Aline & Champagne Bourgeois-Diaz
After my first steps with Vincent Charlot, Jérôme Bourgeois proposed to make my second vintage of the collection Aline.
Located in the northwest of the Champagne appellation in a haven of forests, pastures and rivers, Jérôme has converted his entire estate (about 6 hectares) to be certified organic and biodynamic farming. Joined a few years ago by his wife Charlotte, he did, thanks to their natural methods and
agroforestry, a huge work of diversification of their biotope.
Too impatient to wait for the upcoming harvest when we met them, we chose to taste all the juices in
the cellar, all from the 2015 harvest. A more than intoxicating idea as Jérôme has fun diversifying the
containers and uses stainless steel tanks, barrels, demi-muids, foudres, eggs, jars and amphoras.
After many hesitation (there were so many beautiful and good things), I stopped on a barrel of meunier of an atypical freshness coming from a small parcel. Since then, I keep the contents of this barrel every year and sometimes blend it with another meunier matured in stainless steel tanks.
Vintages made: 2015 – 2016 – 2017 – 2018 – 2019 – 2020 – 2021 – 2022.
